Sadly, we regret that we have to announce the imminent closure of Sportingold Limited which has remained profitable through its 22 years. After years of trying to replace Andrew, who is retiring, or find suitable custodians of the Company without success, we have 2 auctions remaining on 22^nd November 2024 and the Final auction will be held on 24^th January 2025.

We take this opportunity to thank all of the thousands of patrons who have helped to build the reputation of Sportingold Limited and wish everyone the best wishes for the future.

All future sales will be held at our offices in Saunderton and will be broadcast on-line via www.the-saleroom.com and https://www.easyliveauction.com. 

There will be no 'in the room' bidding and no one will be alowed to attend in person..  You may bid on-line, leave commission bids or make telephone bids (limited lines available - booking important).  Viewing will be available on the preceding Thursday at the office.

Note! EasyLiveAuction.com charge buyers far less to bid than other on-line auction companies.  You can bid for as many lots as you want in one sale for a flat fee of £3.  Please note that Sportingold's normal commission rate applies to all lots bought. More information...

Buying at Auction... There are many ways to buy at our Football Memorabilia and Sports memorabilia auctions...  Online Bidding... Bid on-line via http://www.the-saleroom.com and https://www.easyliveauction.com.  On-line bidding can be affected by the quality of the Internet connection, if you experience problems please contact the on-line bidding company, not Sportingold.  Commission Bids... Please email Commission Bids by 7 pm the night before the sale.  We will do our best to process email bids received on sale day but cannot guarantee to do so due to work load and availability of the Internet. Telephone Bidding... If it is important to you to bid on a particular lot you are advised to book a telephone bid.  Please book Telephone bids 24 hours before the sale so we can ensure sufficient staff are in place to handle the calls. Please note that due to the lack of staff we can only accept telephone bids on lots where the low estimate is a minimum £100. There is no charge for bidding by telephone.    Sale and Viewing Times...   Viewing on the preceding Thursday at our Saunderton Office. Sales start at 09:00 am.  The auctioneer normally averages 150 lots per hour.

David Palmer, our popular auctioneer, is a leading freelance auctioneer.   Chris Williams, founder of Sportingold, sadly passed away in December 2019.

Buyers Premium is 20% + VAT. Buyer Premium for the-saleroom.com is 24.95% + VAT If you bid via EasyLiveAuction.com you may either pay them a flat fee of £3 to register, in which case you pay the standard Sportingold Premium of 20% + VAT on all lots bought, or you can opt to pay 3% per lot, giving a total premium of 23% + VAT Because of the additional charges imposed by on-line bidding you will find it cheaper to leave your commission bids directly with us, rather than them.  WE NO LONGER ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CHEQUE OR CREDIT CARD.  PAYMENT CAN BE MADE BY CASH, BANK TRANSFER OR DEBIT CARD.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE CHARGES SUPERSEDE ANY LISTED ELSEWHERE All purchases are made subject to our Terms and Conditions.

• Sale results will be uploaded periodically throughout the sale, depending on Internet connection.

• Where Sportingold dispatch items purchased at a sale to the purchaser, postage and packaging will be charged at the current applicable rates for all postal/carrier deliveries and a packing charge of £3 will be added to this cost for each package sent.  Lots mailed or sent by carrier to the purchaser are sent at the risk of the purchaser and Sportingold will not be responsible for any loss or damage in transit.
