The world of sporting memorabilia is a vibrant and often emotional marketplace where history, nostalgia, and fandom intersect. Enthusiasts and collectors seek out items ranging from Match Worn Shirts and Match day programmes to vintage ticket stubs and medals, each carrying a unique story tied to iconic moments or legendary athletes. Values can range from modest to astronomical, especially for rare or authenticated pieces associated with superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Pele. The market has grown significantly with the rise of online auctions and authentication services. At its heart, sporting memorabilia offers fans a tangible connection to the past, turning fleeting moments into lasting treasures.
Sportingold was formed in 2002 by Chris Williams and has been a leading Sports Memorabilia Auction House ever since. Chris sadly passed away in 2019 on his way to the Emirates to watch his beloved Manchester City. A City fan from birth, Chris dedicated lots of his life to watching Manchester City home and away including watching his side winning the 1969 FA Cup at Wembley and the 1970 European Cup Winners Cup in Vienna. Chris formed Sportingold in 2002, of the back of his love for all things Manchester City, including his collection of City memorabilia. His influence on the sporting memorabilia industry has been truly remarkable and lives on to this day.
